A keto or ketogenic diet is a very low-carb diet, which can help you burn fat more effectively. Many people have already experienced its many proven benefits for weight loss, health and performance (Eenfeldt & Scher, 2019).
The “keto” in a ketogenic diet comes from the fact that it allows the body to produce small fuel molecules called “ketones”(Eenfeldt & Scher, 2019). A process called ketosis, this entire activity allows the use of fats as an alternative fuel source for the body, instead of blood sugar (glucose).
Take note that ketones are produced and ketosis only happens when you eat very few dose of carbs (broken down into blood sugar) and moderate amount of protein (because some proteins can also be converted into blood sugar).
